Has anyone developed any loads in the 8mm-06 using the Barnes 160 gr. TTSX bullet?

I have, but rechambered the rifle twice each time and settled on the 8mm-06 ackley IMP..I will try to find my load data, I recall the bullet itself was a real killer of deer and elk for that matter..

Cant find that data. However you can probably add 5% to grs and go from there, I believe thats what I did for the 8mm/06, then another 5% for the 8x60 and the 8mm/06 Ackley

If I run across it I will let you know..

I started with a 8x57 and played with it, then a 8mm-06 rechamber, 8x60, 8mm-06 Ackley was the last one and the best by a bit...Did a lot of velocity testing and accuracy testing. FVORED POWDERS WERE: CFE-223, 4320, RL-15 & 17 best I recall.

I posted some of that on AR and its probably out there, but I have no clue where to find it.

Ray,
Here is some info that you sent to me a couple of years back for the 8mm/06 AI----again this is ref the Ackley Improved!

Just a partial of what you sent me.

58 gr. IMR 4064 160TTSX (60 was too hot)

65 gr. RL-19 160 TTSX seemed like a mild good load

Again this is for the AI version---reduce as necessary!

I have not tried these loads---this is the info that you sent me!

Hope this helps the OP!

I really liked the 8mmx06 Ackley, mild of recoil, less noise and a excellent of both large and small game up to a Hippo and several buffalo..My go to elk rifle for a year or two..all around good caliber..Good bullet choice also. I might add the 160 gr bullet will sizzle and kills extremely well. You wont recover many of those bullets as they do leave rather large esxit holes most of the time..
