| I can not help on the .280 but have a Stainless Stalker in .270 and it is a fine rifle as a shooter. My only complaint would be the adjustable trigger is still a little heavy for myself but the wife thinks it is just fine at 4.5 lbs.

| Friend of mine that I hunt with has the exact Browning 280 rifle. It shoots just great and he harvests game with it every year. He is too tight to buy another rifle. The trigger can be brought down with replacement aftermarket springs available through Midway or Brownells.

| That was the least adjustment I could make on the trigger, of course spring kits are available from Brownels and Midway but the wife liked the trigger that stiff. I learned long ago to keep quiet and just say "yes dear."

| I have a Stainless Stalker in .280 and just had a gunsmith take mine down to right 3 pounds with the factory parts, he may have swapped out springs but I didn't ask. For those interested, I just tried out the Georgia Arms 140gr load and I'm getting about 1/2" groups at a hundred yards with it.

| I had one, and was quite happy with it. Took it to Zim, and took several animals with it. It did not like handloads, but prefered Winchester factory 162 gr Silvertips.

| I have a Browning Stainless Stalker in .338wm and it will consistently produce sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards with 200gr Ballistic Silvertips. This Stainless Stalker has a BOSS on it And I have a .280 Rem. in Ruger #1 that will almost do a one hole, 3 shot group at 100 yards with 140gr ballistic Silvertips. I think the combination of the two would make a fine rifle.

| I had one in 7mm rem mag about 25 yrs ago that had a great shine and was pretty as a picture. It was so shinney that I never worried about a signal mirror(Ihunted some wild counrty back then) as all I had to do was use the stock to signal with. The rifle group would easily cover a 10 inch pie plate at 100yds and almost always fed the top shell out of the magazine so I could usually get two shots off without a big hassle. I ended up selling it to a fishing buddy who claimed it made the best drift anchor he ever saw! Seriously...most all of this is true. You could give me a Browning but only because my Grandmother taught me never to turn a gift away...you can always sell it. |

| I have had a 280 stainless stalker for 5 years now. It is the most accurate hunting rifle I own. It came with the BOSS which was quickly swapped for the CR. It looks a bit goofy, but when it shoots so well who can argue? |

| I can't speak for the Browning, but the 280 is a great choice. I have had mine for 14years now and have killed alot of deer and a few yotes. |
