yup...me too
Where does IMR-8208 stand on the burnrate charts?
The burnrate of varget is quite close to the best available for that cartridge.

Jeff SullivanI have used IMR3031 with 232 gr bullets, but for 250's and 286's which is what I shoot the most, it is always Varget.

Thanks Butch.....in that case, I'd think IMR-8208 would be a bit too fast for the 9.3 X 62.....possibly work with the lightest bullets however.
Email Hodgdon's and ask them!

There was a write up about 8208 in one of the recent gun articles??, but reportedly is a good one for 223-308 range of calibers?? Friend is looking for it and apparently it is not readily available. I believe I would stick with Varget or 4064, very similar.

SnellstromI've found that Ramshot Big Game is awesome in the 9.3x62, nice speed, and real accurate. I read about it here on AR from some avid 9.3 shooters.

butchlambertI've got 48lbs. of the IMR8208XBR. It is supposed to be the latest greatest BR powder. One of our BR shooters put up $250,000 for Hogdon to duplicate the old military surplus 8208 that is long gone. Though a lot of us has bought a lot, it isn't doing what was expected of it. In a PPC the normal load is 29.2 of VV133. It takes about 32 grains of the 8208 to achieve this. I don't think I will try it in my 9.3x62 that I hope to get next week.

I´d say that VV135 is the ideal powder for the 9.3x62.
