Was browsing a local gun shop and picked up what I thought was a post 64 Winchester model 70. To my surprise it was a Marlin bolt action model MR7 in 30-06. Never seen one before and was very surprised how nice it looked and how much it resembled the Winchester 70. Used sticker price was $960. I didn’t need another 30-06 as I already have 3, but it sure was tempting.

Anyone familiar with this Marlin MR7?

Apparently they borrowed features from other rifles of the time. It is basically a post 64, push feed model 70 made from 1996-1999. In my mind $960.00 would be top dollar, if I had one and sold it for that much I would be happy.
