He doesn't know what it's worth and will either look up a value on Auction Arms or I will. I am not sure what he wants for it. He thinks it's worth $1100.00, which is very different from what I thought he was asking last year. He had said I could keep anything I got over $300.00 if I sold it for him.
I'll look at it Monday or Tuesday and see which Weatherby it is and get a price from him.
Thanks for all the replies,
Jim

I that case it still sounds like you can buy it for $300 go for it. That by the way is lots bigger than you need for those Texas deer.

If I can get a Mk V for $300.00 it's a no-brainer, I'll take it.
As far as it being more than I need for our deer I was kind of being a smarta**. A .243 is plenty for the size deer we have. A .300 Weatherby Mag or even a .300 Win Mag is more than I will probably ever have a need for, but it's nice to have too much than not enough.
I had planned on scoping my Swiss K31 or my Swede M38 (ouch!), either of which will be plenty.
I'm just a sucker for a bargain on a nice weapon- rifle, pistol or shotgun.
Maybe if I get this I can convince my wife that I need to try it on elk to be sure I got my money's worth.

My Vanguard was sitting in the Wally World clearance rack for $299. It just happened to be a 300 WBY. I had no choice, I had to buy it. Deals like that don't come along every day.
