Just for shits and giggles,

and what with all the fun with the advent of the Cooper model 56, I thought I might tweak some of ya'll.

Here is my latest foray into the arena of pre-enjoyed Coopers. Just got it in last week.

Not a model 56, they are too new to buy at +/- 60% of retail.

But all in all a fine rifle that appeals to me.

Cooper model 22, Montana Varminter,
7mm-08, Ziess Daivari C 3 x 9.

$1,090 in the rifle (with Talley rings and bases)
@200 in the scope.

Purchased with American greenbacks, earned by me, by the force of my will and effort (I'm gainfully un-employed and create something new every day), and purchased at the best price we could negotiate (both buyer and seller acting in our own best self interest)from another American capitalist.

Let the fun begin

Best

Nice catch on that one!

I have already seen a few good deals on 52s and 54s and those haven't been out too long. You just have to keep looking.

Someone will start spewing about how you are supporting someone that once supported someone because you have a rifle with that someone's name on it. Obviously they have never shot one before.

Ken,
If you'll notice the tone of my responses to both you and GWB, they were courteous and polite but simple disagreements. The tone of your response is how pissing match's ensue.

Steve

BTW I will not purchase a GM product until the Govt. is completely out of the pic and the unions loose their stranglehold on the corporation as well.

Having never shot a Cooper rifle doesn't change the fact that Cooper Rifles owner/Preisdent supported a liberal gun grabbing adminstration on more than one occassion

Cooper Rifles does not have the market cornered on good shooting accurate rifles

jwp475,

I've often been heard to say, if the only thing I was interested in was accuracy, all my rifles would be Savage dancing

That would take dedication.

I may get to help a guy with his Colt Collection, I think he has something like 600 pistolas. Most of them are Single action army. Evidently he's been collecting for sixty odd years.

I feel the money would have been better spent upgrading your Leica optics to the current models. But that is just me.

Woodrow,
perhaps so, perhaps not, opinions vary.

I got the 10 x 42 BA's used for $550. I've used them in Texas, Colorado, Montana, Alaska, Maine, Hawaii and about 10 other states. They seem to work fine.

I got the scope new (it had been misplaced at the shop where I bought it) for $500.

Although the items are not the latest technology, they remain good equipment, they fit within my budget. Also should I ever desire to sell them, I usually get what I have in them, or a little more.

So, you take the depreciation.
I'll buy more stuff with the money I save.
