Hey all,

I just put a BOSS break on my Winchester 70 in STW and am looking for help with the "sweet spots" for various weight bullets. If nothing else, I use the 140g and 160g bullets alot. Anyone experience and findings would be very much appreciated!!!

Don ----- Do you have the normal barrel or the Laredo model. If you have the Laredo I can help you, but I will not try from memory, I will have to check my info in my charts. Good shooting.

I have a normal lightweight barrel, but I would love to hear whatever recommendations you might make. As it stands, I am starting from scratch. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Don ----- My Boss settings are 2.8 for the 160 grain bullets and 6.9 for the 140 grain bullets. Once again my barrel is the Laredo model rifle with the bull barrel. My load for the 160 grain North Fork bullet is 82.5 grains of H-1000 powder, Fed 215M primer and Rem brass. Another accurate load if 160 grain Barnes XLC and 85 grains of H-1000, same primer. With the former load I get 3190 fps ave and super one hole accuracy, the later about 3100 fps and accuracy nearly as good. My rifle does not like the 140 grain or 175 grain bullet as well, although it will shoot them to 1 inch. I really like my STW and take it as a backup rifle to Colorado on Elk and primary rifle on Mule Deer. Good luck and good shooting.
