Very glad that Norma will make 7x61 again. Early this year at the Valley Forge PA gun show I found a double heat treated Springfield, 26" barrel fitted by Bob Ditchburn who used to gunsmith for Phil Sharpe, mint bore, G&H mount base, rather bulky but OK stock, about 8 lbs less scope. A very reasonable $250. Have a G&H bracket with K4 Weaver that fits perfectly but have only been able to pick up one box of ammo. So it's good news. Will email Norma that they have at least one customer.

I've owned several S&L rifles in 7x61 S&H (4 different models actually).

Back when Norma first brought out the "Super" brass, supposedly the reason was that with the thinner brass they solved some extraction problems which existed with the heavier brass. The thinner brass was more elastic when used with heavier loads and didn't tend to expand to the "sticking" point and then stay there, the way some of the heavy and soft original brass did. At least that's what the American Rifleman and some other sources reported in the magazines of the day.
