I have my heart set on a 35 Whelen but can't find one that appeals to me. Does anyone know of a manufacturer offering 35 Whelen as a caliber choice other than Nosler?

I have a mannlicher-stocked Serengeti charbered in 358 WSM, which is about the same ballistics. Cool little rifle.

Wasn't Kimber going to offer the .35 Whelen? I thought I read/heard that somewhere, but if they were it's probably a long ways out.

Montana Rifles would be another possibility, if they,re up to speed. Hill Country Rifles be another, maybe.. Or ER Shaw on a Savage action, run a little less.

Remington did not too long ago. It may have been one of their "classic" editions or what ever they call their once in a while productions. I saw one (m-700) at a gunshow in a classic stock. I should have bought it.

Find a Rifle you do like in any cartridge based on a 30-06 case. Rebore or rebarrel to 35 Whelen.

Do yourself a favor. I own BOTH 35 Whelens and 9.3x62s. The latter is a superior cartridge with far more bullet choices. Get a CZ (bolt) or Merkel (semi-auto) and you'll never look back.

I think New England Firearms makes one in their single shot hinge break rifle now, saw one advertized in 35 Whelen.

Do a "classic" approach. Buy a 30-06 on a good sporterized 1903 Springfield and then rebarrel. Cool

Ignore the off-post threads about the 9.3x62 -- they just can't help themselves.

Aye.

Classics are discontinued, IIRC, but they're out there.

Thanks for the suggestions. Ed, I sent you a PM. My original plan was to find a Sako stainless synthetic and rebarrel it but I can't find a Sako for sale. I did this to make a 9.3x62 and it worked out well.
