If you have to choose one Bullet Manufacturer..
to hunt the rest of your life with, which one would you choose?

I've tried many different brands of bullets but I seem to migrate towards Noslers and Speers. If I had to choose it would easily be the Nosler line. I think it's a complete line up with Ballistic Tip, Accubond, Partition and E-Tip. It's a family owned business that really cares about what hunters think. With their bullet line, I would feel confident I could hunt anything in the world.

What say you?

Nosler, hands down.

Finman
For me it has to be Sierra. Excellent accuracy, lethal everytime and reasonably priced. Nosler may be good, but it is not better than the Sierras and they are definitely more expensive.

better have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it....

Woodleigh, they have exellent bullets in the calibers I use.

Arild Iversen.

I'm with Finman if I had only one brand available to me I would stick with Sierra's.
They have performed flawlessly on game for me and the most accurate bullet I've found.
Been loading them since 1975 with excellent results.

Hornady. I use XTPs in my revolvers, V-max for varmints, and interlocks for larger game. I tend to use heavy-for caliber bullets at moderate velocity so I haven't really found any necessity for bonded or monometal bullets.

Nosler.

I just wish their Custom competitions bullets shot as well as the Sierra Match Kings.

Just one? For all my rifles? I'd have to pick Nosler - they offer both cheap c&c's as well as mono-metal bullets.

My second choice would be Hornady - same deal, c&c's plus GMX's.

I live in Cali - mono-metal is a requirement where I'm at, but only for actual hunting and not target practice.

If only choosing one, it would probably be Nosler for the versitility and variety of bullets they offer in their product line.

However, saying that, if Barnes offered more options in the varmint arena, I would choose them.

Good thing we don't have to choose just one! Wink

No doubt, if I had to pick only one bullet for the rest of my hunting career, it would be the North Fork. I shoot all brands of bullets and have for years. I hunt all over the world for big and little game as well as dangerous game. I have pet loads with all the bullet manufacturers in this country but in the end if I had to select, the North Forks would be my bullet. Good shooting.

They both offer the types of bullets that I use the most.

For me, it's NorthForks, hands down. 2nd choice would be Partitions. I've found that NF's seem to be slightly more accurate than Partitions and they don't lose as much weight. I know, Partitions are designed to lose about 15% but I've had text book perfect mushrooming from NorthForks and they didn't lose anything like 15%. Just my preferences tho.

Fo me it's 1.Nosler, and 2. Sierra. Hard to beat the accuracy of the Ballistic Tip, and the Partitions are, in my opinion unequaled on game.

Back when John Nosler controlled the business I would have immediately chosen Nosler. But about 30 years ago when his son (and more specifically his daughter-in-law) started taking over, things changed.

I still like their partition bullets as my number one all-around hunting bullet, but the numerous changes in ownership have disabused me of any idea that it is still a company centered around pleasing customers. It is now just another corporation, one which is primarily focused on profit, not on the customers and their needs. At least, that is how I see it. YMMV.

So, my allegiances would easily change to some other corporation, such as Winchester, if they would bring back the traditional Silvertip in all bore sizes. My second choice would be Sierra, now that Joyce Hornady is gone.

Like everything else in the world today, the answers to questions are no longer easy.

I have complete control over my bullets, the cost is reasonable, I cast the bullets for all of my hunting rifles.

I've posted this before, but just for shits and giggles,
for me it would be Accubonds:

what's not to like. Aerodynamic, shoot well out of numerous calibers and rifles, are not as frangible as ballistic tips, leave good blood trails
and best of all,
they
kill
stuff

If I had to make that decision today, it would be to choose the CEB bullets. The #13 solid and the NonCon and now the Raptor and Carnivore. I honestly believe there is no better bullet on the market and that these are current state of the art in ballistic development.

Read the threads under Big Bores by Michael458. These bullets are now being made in small and medium bore sizes.

I tend to use more gun than nessessary so Rem Cor-locks because they are cheap.
But, If I'm going after something big or a trophy hunt then its North Forks, but the Cutting Edge Bullets are my choice for lead free bullets.

not "if I had to" it's more like "I already did"

Barnes hands down.

TTSX in every cartridge I load. VG for varmint explosive expansion. And they make great solids if I ever need them.

If and when the lead laws start taking over, there would be no effect.

I think that is part of the reason that companies are trying to get one line of either mono or alternative core bullets up and running. It doesn't take big government long to throw BS in the works.
