I would have to say mine is a Norma case, Winchester large rifle primer, 59.5 to 60 grains of Varget and a 225 TSX seated out to a max overall length of 3.291. These loads run about 2475 to 2525 depending on the rifle.

Standard caveat. Start low and work up!

So far mine is 55 gr of IMR 4064, fed 210M primers Graf cases & a nosler 250 gr ballistic tip. Under an inch all day which is minute of anything that I want to kill.

I started reloading for this calibre only few months ago and so far my favourite is Nosler Accubond 250 gr. using 57.0 of N-140 and Lapua case and CCI primers, it’s very accurate in my rifle...(Sauer S-202).

Can anyone tell me what’s the Min and Max for Barnes TSX 250 gr. using the N-140 powder ? I really want to give this bullet a try !

Ingvar:

I have the newest Barnes Manual (No.4) They don't give a load for VIT N140. However, with a 250 grain TSX, they suggest a minimum of 53.5 grain of VIT N150 and a max of 58 grains of VIT N150 for 2489 fps out of a 26 inch barrel.

The Barnes Manual recommends that the TSX bullets be crimped in the front cannelure groove. However, if you do that, you get an overall length of only 3.205. I usually seat mine out to a the max length of 3.291. If you do that, I am sure you could get more powder in the case.

My most used load for the 9,3x62 is a 286 gr Nosler partition with 58.0 gr of RL-15 fired by a WLR primer in either Graf or Normal cases. Runs 2425 fps in my CZ 550 American and its 24" bbl.

Just works in the rifle and kills game like the Hammer of Thor.

286gr Nosler Partition
Graf case
Fed 210
65gr. Ramshot Big Game
2450fps ave velocity

Consistantly under 2 inches @ 100yds. I don't do much paper punching with this rifle, a modified M77 that weights in at 8 pounds, but I have shot a couple of clover leafs for 3 shots. Otherwise I one shoot it form the bench once or twice a year just to scope check it.

If I did may part everything I've shot with it has died quickly. I've strained the boundries of good shot placement several times and the 9.3 still penitrates into the heart/lung area. Several Texas Heart shots were VERY successful.Complete penitration or smashing large bones on both sides of shoulder pretty much the norm. Very high level of confidence in the rifle and the load.

H-4350 works well as does Varget, H-335, R-15 and several other powders.

Graf bullet from Prvi, 286gr. are good for practice but I haven't gotten around to shooting anythng with them as yet.

232gr Norma Oryx work well on smaller game but I've found them to expand a bit much for my taste to use on big stuff. 65gr. of Big Game works well as a load with these, 2550fps under 2 inches and less recoil than 286grs. Still a 9.3x62 is not my choice for a gopher gun.

Graf/Norma
Fed GM 210
59 grns. RL15>2442 fps avg.

just plain works! that Lothar barrel is something else in my VZ. Shooting the 9,3 now and experiencing how well it worked surprises me that for over most of all my yrs. hunting how I have not heard of it this calibre earlier.

It took the AR members to enlighten me-cheers!

have a good variety of bullets but thus far the 286 Partitions work well indeed!

Think mine was 59 grains Re15, WLR primer in Lapua brass with the Barnes 250 TSX at about 2550.

I took the following 9.3x62mm load to Africa in 2007, three one shot slap down kills on Nyala, Waterbuck, and Impala.
256 grain RWS H-Mantle
58.0 RL-15 @ 2478 fps

Did not have time to push the load farther, but plan to go to Africa in 2010 (IF Obama lets me) with 250 grain Accubonds and maybe the last of my stash of H-Mantles, all pushed to 2550 fps.
