It is identical to a Sako L61R right down to the dimensions of the internal parts. The D-H does have an aluminum floorplate/trigger guard, but that's about all. They were manufactured in the 1960's by the Howa company in Japan, the same company that now makes the Weatherby Vanguard. Documentation is hazy, but the story I've heard is that Sako filed and won an international patent infringement lawsuit that put a stop to the Dickson-Howa. I came across one about a year ago that I bought. It seems to be a fairly high quality piece that shoots well. The bolt will interchange with a three-lug Sako perfectly (although headspace might be off). I've never seen one in any caliber other than .30-06 and don't know if any other caliber exists. | |||
