Stopped by Cabelas earlier this week and they had a few of the new Savage offerings. The one that I was most impressed by was a model 10 308. It had the HS Precision tactical stock, oversized bolt handle, 24" Heavy barrel, Accu-trigger, and a matte finish. Not near as cheap looking as most Savage rifles I've seen in the past. For a price of $579 I thought it to be quite a bit of rifle for the money. The single shot Hornet with lam stock wasn't too bad looking either. Any of you shot either of those rifles? Reloader

yep, except mine is stainless and has a fluted barrel. Shoots 150gr BT's in the 5/8" range for ten-shot groups. It's what I take to shoot the occasional Tactical Match. Rich DRSS

Hey guys, I have a savage 116 weather warrior in 300 win mag laminate stock ss 26 in barrel and i get groups measuring a little under 3/4 in at 100 yds with federal factory 180 gr ammo, Id go up against anyone with a higher priced rifle anyday. Its a great rifle and it was just over 400 dollars.

I also have a 116 WW with fluted barrel and muzzle brake in 338 it truely shoots some nice tight groups 3/4" or less with 210gr NP or 250gr Speer GS, the factory brake makes it an easy shooter.
