Your old pre-64 300 H&H now fires the 220gr Partitions with H-4831 at a very accurate 2750 fps, with the old [no stock notch] Lyman receiver sight, 300 yard steel is cake, I love that rifle.

Jerry, I loaded the 200gr Partitions with your recipe and it worked great! pM me your 220 load, please as I have quite a few 220s on hand!

I shot the 300 H&H for at least 60 years and sold that gun on AR a couple of years ago, it was pretty rough but shot varmint rifle size groups. It was a pre 64 30-06 opened up to a 300 H&H..with the first custom stock I built, over the years the bedding changed with its new barrel, and some cracks were repaired..I loaded the living shit out of it, never have seen much since in shooting any caliber below its best performance as to velocity and accuracy, who wants a race car that runs on lighter fluid or kerosene...I can load a good 300 H&H to within a 100 to a 150 FPS of a wby depending on the guns involved..Mine had a 26 inch barrel for sure..The Wby and up did beat it, but my 30-338, 300 Win mags, never could...A good rifle should be the best it can be just like the shooter...same with team roping and golf..

To those that don't push their gun, that's commendable, but not my cup of tea, I like to push the string, so far its worked and I still have all my fingers from ropeing, my eyesight from handloading and shooting, but do as I say, don't do as I do might be good advise.

Lastly but not least, go through a half dozen loading books and compare the 300 H&H to the 300 win. mag then I ask where did the 300 fps come from and what gun beat the H&H that much. Rest my case, I got the books right here, and your picking on my baby!!
