Considering a HS Precision Sporter in left hand and looking for opinions on their rifles. Can't find another brand lefty stainless/synthetic I feel confident about. This will be my only gun for deer hunting. Thanks!

I have two, both LA 2000 series, 270 came with .3 test target and the '06 even better. They both are a joy to cycle the action, the triggers and safety are outstanding, the barrels a breeze to clean and the Stocks fit me well. Unlike the current fad for ultra light rifles these weigh 7 1/2 # which I find no sweat to carry when you know they will mount and hold on target and deliver that all important first round where it must go.

H-S Precision built my rifle for the Winchester Custom Shop. It is a Custom Sporting Sharpshooter in 7mmSTW. Here is a photo of it before I mounted the Leupold Vari-X III 4.5x-14x scope. Below is the documentation that H-S sent to the Custom Shop with the rifle. The test target measure 0.1326" for three shots at 100yds. I've never matched that group; the best I've done with it is 0.220" for three shots at 100yds. with Nosler 120gr. BTs. They build a very nice rifle. George

I have one in .300 win mag. Most accurate rifle I have ever owned. Trigger is excellent. Their customer service is excellent. Very good attitudes. They have a new lightweight model. I would really like to get one of them for a backpacking rifle.

RE: HS Precision Rifles I'm lucky enough to own three of their rifles. I'm plotting on when I'm going to buy #'s 4 and 5. One on my rifles is a take down in 300 rum, it is a 1/4 minute rifle. When the wind is right and I'm shooting decently it will shoot hunting bullets into 1/2" at 200 yds. (180 scirrocco's and RL-25). My buddies' 270 WSM shoots 3/8" at 100yds with factory failsafe ammo. Between my three rifles and my friends one all have exceeded their 1/2 accuracy guarantee. Overall comments; Excellent triggers, excellent barrels, good stocks and so-so magazines. I find the stocks a little thick in the wrist (I have 4 other HS stocks on rems and wins), and I wish that you could get a cheekpiece on their lightweight rifle. I'm a bit predjudiced against removeable magazines so keep that in perspective. Their in-line feeding probably helps reliability but I think that a properly sized and fitted double stack mag would feed smoother and hold another cartridge. My 338 lapua had a magazine that rubbed on the bottom of the bolt and made operation much rougher. I swapped it for another at the dealer, fitted it and now it works ok. All in all however I think that for the money you can't buy a more accurate production/custom rifle. My only reservation would be be for a dangerous game rifle where I would opt for a control-round-feed rifle.
