My brother just got a Remington model 700 SPS stainless in 7mm RUM and shooting 150 grain Swift Sciroccos and that thing is extremely accurate at 500 yards hes getting tighter groups than my 300 RUM at that distance BUT I still love my 300 RUM. I was just wondering who else has a 7mm RUM ?

I have one and it is one of the sweetest shoot rifle I own. I have shot both deer and hog with it. I am now trying to decide on a new scope for it. I want to be able to shoot 1000 yards. I have shot two hogs at a time with it. I have shot nothing that didn't drop in its tracks.

Not sure if you bro reloads, if he does, he should really try the big 180 Bergers or any of the other heavy VLD type bullets (maybe 162 AMAX).

The RUM has p l e n t y of horse power to REALLY launch those bullets accurately a long ways out there. Although I suspect the 150 Scirocco isn't no slouch in the BC dept. either

i only have a 7RM, but we bought my pops a 7RUM for his 50th birthday a few years ago. he shoots 175gr a-frames, and it has been very good elk medicine, and his Tennessee whitetails don't stand much of a chance.

its a cool caliber, one of these days i'll pick one up for myself. i just ordered a .338 RUM, it will be here in a week or so. so i finally did get into the RUM line of rifles.

Don't mean to be a naysayer but I traded off a
nice 7mm Rem Mag on a 7mm Rem Ulta Mag. I came to regret that trade. The 7mm Rem Ultra Mag is just too much of a good thing. My suggestion... If you want a big seven, just stick with the plain old 7mm Rem Mag. With a 150 grain TSX, it will do all you need to do with a seven millimeter. Just my two cents.
