I just got off the phone with Jerry's Sport Center and they tell me that if you look long and hard a few M-798 in .30-06 are available and a few M799 in .223 are available but finding them might be tough. No word on other chamberings except that they do list the .375 H&H and the 458 Mag as being in the line up prices as follows M-799..........................$460...(20" Brl) M-798 in 06 and 308 size.......$460...(22" Brl) M-798 IN 7-Mag AND 300 Mag.....$485...(24" Brl) M-798 in .375 and .458 Mag.....$639...(26" Brl)

Is the 799 a mini mauser? I just might have to get one. Is that suggested retail pricing? What I'd really like is a mini mauser in 22-250, to re-barrel as a 7mm BR, would be a mighty neat stalking rifle. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

When it was the Mini Daly I read nothing but problems on the ones they force fit a 22-250 into. Would be real easy for a 6 6.5 or 7PPC. If those are dealer prices they are about $100 more on the 798 than the last quote I got on the plain jane Daly As usual just my $.02 Paul K

They call it a mini mauser but it's not CRF like the 798/Daly/Mark X.

I don't know if he was quoting dealer or retail. The last Daly I bought in 270 was $365 dealer cost. That was right after they announced they would be stopping import. A $465 retail isn't that bad if that is what Jerry gave him. I just never pay retail. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Actually it's a push feed with a "rail", where the extractor is on a normal CRF. Rifleshooter has an exposee on them in the Sept/Oct edition.
