I voted for the H-S, but all are good stocks. If you want something other than composite, like wood or laminate, look at Accurate Innovations stocks. You can customize your stock with them for fit and appearance. I also like the fit (for me) of B&C..........Tom

I voted for other cause I wouldn't own a nice rifle that didn't have a nice piece of walnut. To each their own, however.

JP Sauer Drilling 12x12x9.3x72
David Murray Scottish Hammer 12 Bore
Alex Henry 500/450 Double Rifle
Steyr Classic Mannlicher Fullstock 6.5x55
Steyr Classic Mannlicher Fullstock .30-06
Walther PPQ H2 9mm
Walther PPS M2
Cogswell & Harrison Hammer 12 Bore Damascus
And Too Many More

Voted. McM. Have two and I am happy.

But you need to decide what you want because they are strong and stable, but quite heavy in standard form. They have many options including the "Edge" fill, so I think for the alternatives they are probably the most attractive option.

Also consider Manners and maybe Hi TEch Specialities.

Voted other because unless your body dimensions are "average" you should consider a custom stock that is fitted to you. The advantages are reduced felt recoil and much quicker sight acquisition.
For not much more than the price of an off-the-rack stock, you can have one fitted that will be a joy to shoot. JMHO

I voted other.

I would suggest Accurate Innovations.

AI stocks pretty much have it all: inherent stability for extreme accuracy with the propriatary aluminum bedding system and an excelent variety of wood types and grades. Made to your LOP, with many custom features available. I think they are pretty hard to beat!

Check out the links in my signature line and they will take you to the Accurate Innovations homepage and blog site.

Hope this helps. Smiler

I voted McMillan. All three are excellent choices, but the McMillans I have owned and handled have just had a slimmer and lighter "feel" than the other two brands, particuarly the H-S Precision. Having said that, the most accurate rifle I have ever owned wore an H-S Precision stock.

One other brand you might want to consider is Mark Bansner's High Tech Specialties stock. I haven't had the pleasure of shooting one or handling one yet, but they have a reputation of being very light weight and strong.
