Howdy Last weekend at the collectors G show I found a Remington 720 in 30-06 and cut a deal and brought her home. I know that about 2400 was made and most of them went to the navy and used as trophy rifles for their marksman. This one is a not a miltary rifle and the only alternation is that it was drilled for weaver mounts. So just wondering on what value could be place on this fine Remington. Over all condition is around 90%... Thanks A.C.

Hi This 720 has a 22 inch barrel and does not have the rear sight. It has a Weaver # 11 & 36 bases. Overall the condition would be 90%+ It is a 30-06 and just a standard 720A with some nice wood. Interesting fact with this 720 is the balance and handling. One of the very few rifle with near perfect design for me. The serial # must be low at 4003X. Any additional information on the 720 would be helpful. Thanks A.C.

Not only does it balance well, but if yours is like mine, it feeds more smoothly than most bolt actions. Since yours has been drilled and tapped, the collector value suffers. Yours is probably the most common configuration. You could just scope it and shoot it. Any plans?
