CZ 550 integral bases are essentially just a dovetail, with no screws correct? Are these secure enough in the heavier calibers such as 9.3x62? Soes anyone have any experience (good or bad) with using rings on these dovetails?

CZ rings have worked fine on my 9,3x62 during a trip to Africa three trips to Texas, and local hunting. Never had to adjust the impact point with my standard load.

My .416 Rigby was fitted with a mount that spans the two bridges and does not use CZ rings so I can't comment about the heavier calibers.

With a good set of rings, you dont have to worry. I`ve seen a 500 Jeffrey built on a cz 550 and a 577 Tyrannosaur on a brno 602. The least of the owners problems, I would say, was the rings and scope. He worried a lot more about recoil... Big Grin

The rear CZ ring has a "foot" on it that fits into a notch cut in the left side of the integral rear base.

This locks things in place.

I have never had a problem with scope movement on any of my large and medium bore 550s.

I use Talley QD rings on my CZ 550 in 458 Lott and haven't had any problems with it.

What more could you want? The dovetails and the notch make life so simple.

I have a CZ 550 hump back, that started life as a 458 win mag. I had it rechambered to a 460 wby mag. I have 1.5 to 5 power scope on the rifle, and have never had any problems out of the rings, bases or the stock.
