With a little arm-twisting, I was able to get a friend to sell me his FNAR with a 16 inch barrel. I would like to reload 308 Win for it [does it come in other calibers?] and since it has a relatively short barrel I have a question about powder and burn rate in this gun. Normally I shoot 150 to 168 grain bullets in my bolt rifles and load Swift Scirocco or Hornady Interbonds and the powder is 4895 0r 4064. My question is, since it is a shorter barrel should I investigate using a faster burning powder? I loaded some test loads yesterday but have not had time to shoot and chrony them. I hope to get a minimum of 2700fps if possible. Any thoughts appreciated. | ||
