Do any of you guys have on game exprience with this bullet? I have a load with it that will just lay one on top of each other. I've only shot groundhogs with it, nothing bigger.

Since you posted this I've been lurking and waiting for someone to give you a response because I've thought about using them myself in my sons .284. Are you shooting a 7mm Rem Mag? Sierra speaks highly of this bullet and I've used the 30 cal 180 grain bullet (very similar to your 175 gr.) for years on Deer, Elk, Antelope, Bighorn Sheep, and a Mtn Goat with superb results. In my opinion if it is accurate and instills confidence use it. You should get complete penetration on Deer and Sheep size animals from all angles and good solid performance on Elk with some exits. As I said the .308 180 grain bullet by Sierra has done very well for me at 2700-2800 fps.

I've tried them in my 284, and found that the bullet is too long for that case, and it takes up too much space. There however is no reason not to use it in 7 Mag for most game. Remember, forgivness is easier to get than permission.

I use the Serria 175gr bullet with my 7mm Rem Mag. It seems to go pretty fast. 2950 FPS with a 26" barrel

I have been using it in a 7mm saum. I get 2818 f.p.s. with 63.5 grs. of retumbo. That load is three grains under max. If this long bullet works o.k. in the little short mag case, I don't see why it would'nt work in a 284. Also, thanks for the replies.

I took one deer with one, in a 7 x 57 Mauser... Deer went down instantly... The Rifle was a Ruger 77 Mk 2.. the load was 40 grains of IMR 3031, with an MV of 2650... The Rifle is long throated and the bullet was seated to magazine length... Actually shot the deer while out scouting for black bear, but since it was deer season still, and I hadn't gotten one yet, and it was almost over... I took the opportunity...
