I understand that there is a company that makes TC Encore aftermarket barrels that are more accurate than the TC barrels and cheaper to boot.

I think the gun shop told me they were JDJ barrels. Anyone know anything about them?

Check out J.D.Jones, Bulberry, and Fox Valley. They all make Contender and Encore barrels, in factory and non-factory chamberings, but I don't know about the cheaper part.

I have barrels from SSK, VVG, Bullberry, and Van Horn. All of them have been more accurate than the factory barrels I have, but none of them have been cheaper, other than one bullberry barrel I received on a group purchace.

Alot of my friends have the bullberry ones. And after also changing the forearm, he does get .5" groups at 100 yards with a 270. I was impressed.

Accurate yes Cheaper hells no. If you find a JD Jones SSK Industries barrle cheaper than a TC Factory or TC Custom Shop/ Fox Ridge Outfitters there is either something wrong with it which I doubt or the seller doesnt know what he has.

You are not going to find any Custom barrels for the Encore that are cheaper than the standard T/C barrels. J.D. Jones is the owner of SSK Ind. I have never used one of his barrels but I have no doubt that they are more accurate, they also cost a lot more. I do have 2 Fox Ridge Outfitters barrels, they are T/C's Custom Shop. I am very pleased with my .250 Sav., I just recieved my .350 Rem Mag barrel earlier this week and have not fired it yet (snow is to deep at the range to make it enjoyable). I think the others covered the other custom barrel makers except for E.A. Brown Co. www.eabco.com Sean

One that was not mentioned was Gary Reeder.
He has a web site: http://www.reedercustomguns.com/
I have two contenders a 35 Rem and a .378 GNR both shoot well.
He does custom barrels, for both contenders and encores.
