Saw a super clean...maybe unfired...Sig 7RMg bolt action yesterday in a local pawn shop...1st one I'd ever seen. Any comments on quality?...this one was impressive fit and finish wise to me. Synthetic stock & blue steel and marked $550 or $575. Bolt opening was like greased glass on greased glass smooth. I'm not in the market for a 7Mag but could be for something bigger in this gun. Was this the "SHR" (Swiss Hunting Rifle) model?? We see those here in Switzerland quite regularly. They are not the most expensive rifles, but the owners seem happy. They were originally sold in the US way below the prices charged in Europe, and (to an outsider) would seem well worth the price you mentioned. There are a few on GunsAmerica, but at higher prices than what you mention. I don't think they are manufacturered any longer. - mike ********************* The rifle is a noble weapon... 3 hours ago I was in a gun shop in Nice (France) I had a SHR90 cal. 7x64 sinthetic stock in my hand; I found it well made, with a good, smooth bolt and it was correctly priced too. I know a guy that has a varmint one and he is very satisfied.

My son shoots a 970 SHR in 270. They go for about $500 stateside, $550 in wood. FWIW, Dutch. Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

This Frankonia Jagd catalog is a year or two old but: And these prices are in Euro's which right now are 1 Euro = $1.35 or so! I have one in 300 Win Mag. It's very accurate and has a pretty tight bore (shoots to top velocity with lower powder charge). The stock I find a bit clunky and the bolt shroud is a little bland. The take-down on them is pretty neat, you just loosen two allen head screws and the barrel comes right off. You can interchange barrels within the same bolt head or buy additional bolt heads and barrels (if you could find them). I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more accurate takedown rifle for $550........................DJ ....Remember that this is all supposed to be for fun!..................

That's some stout pricing! As far as shooting, it seems to be better than average (sum moa with TSX's), and cleans up very easily. Not thinking of selling.... FWIW, Dutch. Life's too short to hunt with an ugly dog.
