V2 is less than two weeks away. A package got lost in the mail that set me behind a bit, but here is the "main rail" that houses the trigger assembly, many improvements have been made from V1:

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

By the way, to make this ambidextrous for a production version, a bolt notch just needs to be cut in the other side.

Hi Tyler,

As the owner and user of a DTA SRS A1 in .338LM and .308win I applaud your drive and determination to produce a replacement stock for a 700 SA. I for one, would be interested for my .223 LTR.

Thanks for the kind words Andy.

I have some buddies with DT rifles, and while they're awesome and VERY accurate, I think their price and lack of easy adjustability, along with the weight of the system can be improved on...and I am to do that!

Make sure and check back periodically, or if you have facebook you can search "MK Machining" and keep up to date with the chassis there.

Ty,

I've been working on the road for the last few months, so I missed this thread.

While it's not really my cup of tea, I wish you all the best in this venture. I'd be interested in seeing a working "Beta" prototype. Was also curious if there was going to be a barrel profile limitation for clearance purposes. I do have a BDL sitting here in 308 if you need me to "test" one for you.

I do think that is a comfortable price range, if you can hit that price point, I think you can sell these. The trick will be advertising once you have a finished production model.

What do you estimate the finished weight of the chassis to be?

Hey slowpoke, long time no talk! Have you spoken with Dave recently?

If you promise to show buddies, I might be able to send one out to you for a bit of testing once I have several finished. I understand lots of people not wanting such a radical looking chassis...which is why I'm working with Manners on a much more conventional looking stock, with a miniature version of our chassis molded in!

You can have a straight non-contoured barrel and it will fit fine.

Should weight 4-4.5lbs for the whole thing, with some lightening possible.

V2!

There's a bit of aesthetics to cater to, forgot to make a cheekpiece (super simple), cut some forend slots, use a better grip and perhaps change the angle, make the bolt extension...etc

But it works great, and feels even better. Chassis is about 5lbs and has a LOT of material that can get taken out to lighten things up.
