Has anyone loaded the 300 gr Woodleigh RN SP bullets for the 338 Remington Ultra? This is for a new 26" Remington 700 BDL I just purchased. I want to load them at 2,400 to 2,500 fps (target of 2,450). Which powder? I believe they could be loaded much hotter, but that is all I want. My concern is whether 2,400 fps is below the safe starting level. I e-mailed Woodleigh but they have no data for the 338 RUM. They only data I have seem for 300 gr bullets is on this website, but it is for a hotter load. Tbank You in advance for any of your data.

WJM, 2450 with 300 grainers is equal to 2680 with 250 grainers, that is, the energy is the same. So the velocity you are looking for with 300 grainers is about the same as what a 338 Winchester would do with full powered 300 grain loads. Try this. Pick a load for the 338 Ultra that is listed around the 2650 with 250 grain bullets. Then use 94% of that powder charge with your 300 grain bullets. Here is a link to Hodgdon data for 338 Ultra and they show up to 275 grain bullets. http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/338ultral.php Mike
