I am thinking about chambering a Martini cadet for either .357 Magnum or .357 Maximum. If you have or have had a .357 Maximum, what kind of accuracy did you have with .38 Special and/or .357 Magnum in the .357 Maximum, especially comnpared with the .357 Maximum accuracy in the same gun? In my TC Contender, the .357 Mags shoot just fine, but I cheat. I seat the bullets out farther if I intend to use them in the .357 Max barrel. The .38 Special, .38 Long Colt, and .38 Short Colt all are "nein gutt" for 50 yard or farther shooting from my .357 Max barrel. But, if I had to use them in a pinch, they are all plenty good for shooting a man at 7-10 yards. So I guess it depends on what you want to use your Martini for.

mine does fine with 357 magnum rounds too. it does okay with 38 special brass and stuff like a 200 gr and 250 gr rifle bullets. but normal short rounds [bullets] it doesn't care for too much.

Strange! My Ruger # 3 in 38 special shots shoots mild and hot loads to sub moa, lead or jacket. !6" barrel. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

I had a 14" contender that had throat work done and it shot all equally well but before the throat work it shot the shorties 2x-3x the group size of the max. I did the throat on a recommendation from a sillouette shooting friend as a specific fix for the contender chamber and it did indeed tighten up the groups. Matthew
