Me too. The CoreLokt bullets from Remington are cheap but lethal killers. They are just a good all around bullet on game. They are not very concentric, and are typically not very accurate in factory ammo. However, now and then we see that some rifles print these bullets into very satisfactory groups. And because most hunters prefer not to shoot at game beyond the 250, maybe even 300 yard mark, you do not need extraordinary accuracy to these distances. Your rifle may certainly be able to do better with different ammo or handloads, or both. But there's nothing wrong with what I see. Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns | |||

That's minute-of-animal right there. The gun can do better with tuned handloads no doubt but dead is still dead. The deer don't care how small your groups are as long as the first shot counts. In fact, it's definitely better than my Dad's '06 was with 150gr handloads, never mind factory ammo. Your 220 yard groups look like our 100 yard groups did. good groups. that's about what I would shoot with my mark II. I then bought a hougue full alluminum bedded stock and the groups shrank dramatically. Your groups are good. if in the future, you want to try and get more accuracy, I'd reccomend the full bedded Hogue stock. The nice thing about this stock, is that it fits the mark II and the new hawkeyes if you someday get a hawkeye in a new caliber. Your definately good for hunting | |||

Looks pretty good to me to. But if you can get your hands on some Federal Fusion ammo..you won't regret it. Closest thing to premium fact ammo at Walmart prices and extremely accurate. Most accurate fact. ammo I have seen in a variety of rifles, and a quality bonded bullet to boot. | |||

Your 100 yard groups are good. Your 220 yard groups are even better. Take Lefty's advice and hit the field. | |||

Thanks for the compliments. I have a Zeiss conquest 3-9x40 on the 06. I also have a 300 mag in the same gun. They shoot the same as far as grouping. I need to start reloading. I counted my empty boxes of ammo and i have 30 boxes between the 30-06 and 300 stacked up in the closet.It's 4-500 dollars worth of ammo. Least i'll have brass on hand. | |||

Reyn I hunted for many years before I started reloading. I kept thinking, "You know, I need to start reloading." But never did. Finally four years ago I started reloading, and I've been kicking myself ever since for NOT STARTING SOONER.  It is the most enjoyable, rewarding hobby I have ever had. It is great working up loads that work just right for my guns. I'm not sure I'm saving money though--I keep buying more reloading equipment, different powders, and different bullets to try different loads and loading techniques. I'll be a reloader till I die.
