I own both--Only thing i say about the 338-378 is that you do not have check the bbl., after squeezing the trigger. I load 100 gr H-4831 behind a 250 gr. Nosler Partition with gm215m primers. Anything out to 500 yds is dust.

sav,

I own both the .340 Weatherby Magnum and a .338 Winchester Magnum. In my book anything larger than the .340 Weatherby is over kill for the .338 caliber. Besides I don't believe that the RUM version will be around that much longer. Sales are way down and the bean counters at Remington are notorious for dropping cartridges when sales stay down. The .338-378 is a monster in the recoil department and I can see no need for one. Lawdog
