I need another rifle like I need a hole in the head and now someone's gone and made me give Grice's a deposit on the dang thing! It's just not fair.

Somebody please save me from myself!

Guilty! I attached it originally. Just blame it all on me and then you won't have to feel guilty about buying a new rifle!!

Oops!!!! There it is again! Now how did that slip in here!!!???

Not that I haven't been looking for a Whelen of some sort for a while, mind you, but just this week I finally bought a CZ 452 in 17HMR that I'd been promising myself.

To rub salt in the self inflicted wound, I talked to the Remington rep at the NRA convention in Pittsburgh last month and, after admiring the the new CDL, asked if and when they might chamber it in 35 Whelen. "No plans to chamber it in that caliber that I'm aware of."

And now, not a month later, there's the 35 Whelen on Remington's website "available only at Grice's . . . in very limited quantities!" What else could I do?

There, there now. Don't be too hard on yourself, it happens to the best of us! Think of all the fun you'll have thinking about what SCOPE you'll need to buy to put on it

P.S. Dies, cases, bullets, new powder, new cleaning brushes... Lots of options still...

That rifle SHORE is PURTY...

If they had come out with those a couple of years ago, before I bought my CZ-550 in 9.3 x 62, I'd have HAD to buy one...

"Specially since one of my favorite rifles is a Mountain Rifle in 7mm-08.....

Since I ALSO need another rifle like I need another HOLE in the head, I'll force myself to PASS and save the $$$ for a hunting trip..

Since I already own a 9.3 x 62, the Whelen would be redundant...

Is there such a thing as "more redundant?"

If there is, the new Whelen will be since I've already got a 350 Rem Mag in the 700 Classic (I happened on it while looking for a Whelen a couple years ago).

But on the bright side, now I've got something to load the 225 gr Ballistic Tips for that I bought intending to shoot in the 350 but couldn't because they were too long and I didn't figure that out 'til I tried them despite the Nosler manual stating explicitly that they wouldn't work in 350's on short actions but I did't read that 'til later. -WSJ

Redundate...that must be my five 30/06's, two 9.3 x 62's and now buying the Grice 35 Whelen in the pump Rem.
Maybe I was already redundate with the 92 long guns I already had before I "redundated-ed" the 35 Whelen. Beats hell out of me what I will do with it but I always wanted a pump Remington and a 35 Whelen. I couldn't pass it up when the two came together. I was most happy to see that mine came with very nice figure in the butt and in the forearm. Just the luck of the draw I reckon.

How funny! My wife says that to assuage guilt you should immediately venture out and buy your wife a new pair of shoes and a matching handbag!

In all seriousness, and back to the rifle...who could pass it up?
