I picked up a Husqvarna in 30/06 and as I have wanted one in 9.3x62 am having it rebored. My question is what are some of your favorite loads with Nosler 250BT, 285Part., 270Speer?

Looks like you are being ignored Confused

RL-15 seems to eek out about all there is in the 9.3.

Cool

LB,

I cannot get RL powder here in Europe but have worked up loads that are both accurate & effective (they kill Wild Boar & Red Deer!) with the Speer 270 gr. and 250 gr. Nosler BT.

As for powders for the 9.3x62 I've used IMR-4320, H-4895 & H-4350 & VV N-140. They all work fine and will make up accurate loads that are accurate but my experience & most mannuals confirm that the optimum two are IMR-4320 & VV N-140.

My preferred powder & bullet; which is what all my hunting colleagues use exclusively for loading this cartridge is 55.6 grs. of VV N-140 with a Nosler BT seated to the middle of the cannelure, 3.225" OAL.

This load is extremely accurate in my 20" bbl. Mauser and on Wild Boar kills like the Hammer of Thor!

60 gr. of IMR 4320 and a 250 gr. Balistic Tip works well in my CZ. Muzzle velocity of 2,530 fps.

I am curious. You say you are having a rifle "rebored". Rebored from what?

I've had good luck with H4985, but I several different powders will work if you aren't pushing for the absolute maximum performance.

Lynn,

Thanks to the advice of others here I too have had good luck with 57.5 grns of RL-15 under a 286grn Barnes X bullet. I am not sure of the velocity, but it groups just under the inch if I do my part.

I have tried the .270grn Speer, but I have not found a load that gives a consistant group yet, so thats work still in progress..

Regards,

Pete

58.5 gr. RL-15 with Nosler P 286 gr (max in Nosler manual)

65 gr. H-4350 with Speer 270 gr

52 gr H-4895 with Nosler BT (light, practice load)

These show no pressure signs in my CZ and I am on my fourth reload in my brass. I have Lapua brass (ordered from Midway in MO), and use WLR primers. Only trimmed once.

Make sure you have your barrel set back at least 1/8" inch (1/4" better). The 9.3x62's neck isn't as long as a 30-06's. The barrel set back and rechambering will clean up the shoulder/neck area.

Not true. Reboring will clean up all vestiges of the neck. No set back will be required.
