canam - I have found the CZ 9.3 X 62 and most other CZ's to be really accurate out of the box. My 550FS in 9.3 X 62 is shooting 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups with just a little trigger work, no rebedding. The action took just a touch of working the bolt to smooth it up and it feeds with no problems. I would not hesitate to trade a .375 Ruger for one, especially since you have two of them. I would lean towards the full stock rather than the other 550 models because the shorter overall length makes it one heck of a sweet handling rifle.

I have one too and it shoots like a house-a-fire! It's about the right weight, eight pounds or so. I put the CZ rings on it and a fixed four power scope which brings it just shy of nine pounds which I think is just about perfect. I use it to shoot 286 grain Woodleighs and I use my Blaser 9.3X62 which is lighter to shoot 250 grain TSX bullets. I say go for it. My next project is to send my CZ off to AHR to get their 1,2,3, treatment. I like the 9.3 so much, I got rid of my .375s.

My 550FS shot an inch or better right out of the box. The bedding was just fine as is. It's not fussy about loads but shoots Hornady 286 gr. SP's and RL15 especially well. Graf brass is cheap and really good.

CZ's are accurate, dependable, 9.3x 62 ammo found easily in Africa.
Great camp rifle for walking about, for wife, kid, protection .(what I took my 9.3 for)
Though having two rifles in the same caliber ,as you have now, gives a back-up , same ammo etc.

I too have a CZ550 in 9.3X62. Great rifle very nice wood for an inexpensive rifle. Like the others found no need for bedding, shoots under an inch with loads it likes. Smoothed up the set trigger a little, the only work the rifle needed. Try one you'll like it.

I bought one through ARbay in late 2003 or early 2004. Took it to South Africa that May. Did a wonderful job and has been my primary traveling rifle for deer and piggies.

I like the chambering so much that I built another one on a VZ.24 action and it is going to RSA the end of this month.

Glad to read the comments here as I just did a swap for one. Can't wait to get my hands on it and throw a few pills down range.

Sure like mine, especially with 250 Barnes TSX, Re 15 and Lapua brass. Very hard hitting, yet easy on the shoulder.

Here is the kind of three shot group I was getting from mine before I sent it off for a fair bit of metal work and a new stock:

Just using run of the mill PRVI ammo, too. Can't wait to get it back!

My CZ 9.3X62 is a great rifle. Combine with a great bullet like a Nosler and you are good to go!

I can't wait to shoot mine. The stock looks good and is strait grained through the grip area, potentially the weakest part. I have issues with the lack of low rings but I have a 1000 Prvi Partizen 285 grain bullets I ordered from Grafs to really break it in. I will work up a load with Barnes TSS's for Africa but in the mean time I plan to give the local hogs fits with a cheap bullet to get used to it.

Only issue I had with mine is that it really doesn't like to be talked dirty to. I guess it's an Eastern European thing.

Boy, I need to quit drinking before I answer these things beer
