found this in shotgun news;

HUSQUVARNA VAPENFABRIK A.B. SPORTER - The Husqvarna Hi-Power Bolt Action Sporter Rifles have been a favorite for many years. Its Mauser type action is hard to beat. With its 23 3/4" barrel, it gives you the accuracy you expect. The Husqvarna Sporters were introduced in the United States around 1948 and still remain a desire for hunters and target shooters. 9.3x57

you think i could convert it to 9.3x62 mm and be ok?

If it is on the M-98 action there should be no problem. I recently bought a Husquvarna M-98 actually chambered in the 9.3x62.
If the rifles are built on the M-96 actions you would probably be on safe grounds but most folks would recommend you staying with the 9.3x57 round. It is not a bad round - similiar to the 358 Win - and highly thought of in many parts of the globe.

I think you'll find that Husqvarna build 9.3x62 rifles on both the 96 and 98 actions.

Yep ...Find out if its a 96 or 98.

I have a husky m98 9.3x57 I was thinking of rechambering but decided to keep it original and get another in X62.

I like the 9.3x57. I get about 2350fps with a 232gr and about 2000fps with a 286gr

Before you do this make curtain that the scope base holes have been drilled properly! I have the personal experience of having one of these reamed to 62 for 57, only to find out after the fact that is had been drilled and tap completely through the reciever locking lug and into the the base of the chamber! Meaning that I had a ream job done on an out of proof rifle!

The gun will be out of proof in some countries if you choose to convert. Americans don't have a house of proof and they often use 'ole tire and a long string! I guess it depends where you live.
PS. I would locate something newer in 9,3x62 like: CZ, ZB, Voere, or Frankonia Mauser if I were you. The ZB built on VZ-24 Mauser action is a gem of a rifle. dancing

As I recall, the factory 9.3x57 barrels are only marked 9.3, so they're isn't any quick way of knowing whether or not the chamber has been lengthened.

Husky rifles that left the factory as 9.3x62 have the barrel stamped as such.

I have be tempted many times to re-chamber my Husqvarna 146 9.3x57 many times. The question keeps coming back......WHY???? The 9.3x57 is in itself a WONDERFUL cartridge. Yes, the x62 will give you a rather substantial velocity increase. But, you may pay in recoil, as these fine Husqvarna 46's (96) and 146's (fn98) are fairly light rifles. If you decide to re-chamber, do it on a 146.

Why?
I have been using 286 and 320grn WOODLEIGH bullets in the 62 with good results and considering the light weight of the rifle, surprisingly low recoil.

I am not sure that is true - I have an old Husky 98 that is marked just "9.3" on the barrel and it is a 9.3x62. From what I can see, I don't think this rifle was reamed out from a 9.3x57.

Hope I could add to the confusion. stir

Kurt,
It is my understanding too that the Husqvarna rifle barrels stamped 9.3 were x57 and that all 9.3x62 chamberings have the full 9.3x62.

Yes, I know, I have been wrong before.
