I don't own one, nor do I own a 30-378 Wthby, but since opinions are like... well you know... Not sure I'd want one in a lightweight, thumb-hole stock. Of all the things the 30-378 is known for, recoil is at the top of the list. Also, I'd be a little skeptical of a 2-shot group offered up as evidence of accuracy.

At 4100 fps in a 308 rifle, I would expect a re-barrel once a year. Also, the 130 gr, even at that speed, wouldn't make for good hunting. It would be hard to find a hunting bullet to hold up at that velocity. Looks like they are trying to make a statement, not sure I would buy into it though. John

Hey Guys, Thanks for the input. This question was not for me, (I shoot a Jarrett .280 AI and a Bansner .300 WM, both older models built on Rem 700 actions, that cover me well in this general area.) I do however have a friend that has been speaking of purchasing one of Fergusons guns and was interested if anyone had any practical experience to relay to him. As far as rebareling goes, he is not a very high volume shooter so I think the one year estimate is being needlessly pessimistic. However, I do agree that the 130gr bullet is a bit light for such a setup and the purposes one might consider purchasing it for. JC
