Took the CZ to the range today! It will be the last cool day in this part of Texas until say. . . .Late October!

I am very impressed with the CZ, well made wood to metal finish is good, extra recoil lug on the barrel. Only downer, it isn't bedded at all.

Shot some rounds that I got with the rifle. Nosler Ballistic tips with RL-15. Velocity was 2540-2600.

After I walked the rounds onto the target, the rifle performed well and I love the set trigger shooting off the bench!

As soon as I shoot enough, It's taking a trip down I-10 to Tip Burns for a NEC Ramp Front and adjustable rear sights.

No buyer's remorse here. Glad I got the rifle!

Leave him alone until he finishes reworking my Whitworth!

If you were closer I would slide you some of my ammo from Superior with the 250-grain North Forks.

I highly recommend you develop loads with the 286 Woodleigh Softs.
They have performed perfect for me from Impala to Cape Buffalo.
For giraffe and elephant use 286 Woodleigh Solids.
286 Nosler Partitions are great bullets too.

Tony,
A fellow member, who lives down the road in Manvel, posted the rifle. I drove 20 minutes to look at it and bought the rifle.
He threw in 3 boxes of loaded ammo, 2 1/2 boxes on Nosler Ballistic tips and scope mounts.
I see why you like the 9.3 . Now I need to find a crusher deal on a 9.3X74R Chapuis! clap
I may need your Peggy to call my Peggy and tell her not to kick me out of the house when I do!
Or you may need to take in a boarder! wave
Charles, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Tip is sitting in Canyon Lake, twiddling his thumbs waiting on my 404 Jeffery to get back from Roger Kehr. I saw him first! Eeker animal

OK, so Bob Cuyler saw him first!

I will be in Dallas for about 3 hours Saturday!

Two years ago I took a box stock CZ 9,3x62 American fitted with a Leupold 2.5-8x scope to South Africa for plains game ... because there was a scope problem with one of the rifles I had originally intended to take.

Used 286 gr Noslers on Norma cases. Load was 58.0 gr of RL-15 with WLR primers. Chrono data was very, very consistent and groups were approximately 1 moa:

SD 2.5 75F
MAD 1.9 Chrono 0
ES 4.4
AVE 2,417.5 fps 3714 lb-ft

The two of us hunting together brought 9,3x62s. Ph's comment was "Glad to see something other than 'pip-squeek' cartidges!"

The rifle took Impala, warthog, blue wildebeast, kudu, and zebra. All were one shot drops save the kudu which was hit just a little high. Simply outstanding performance for the cartridge/bullet combination.

That little rifle has earned its place in my safe!

Rusty ... you gotta winner. Enjoy it!

Rusty, just say the word and we will talk to your Peggy on your behalf, or set up a spare room.

Actually you might not want me to talk to her, because with your 450/400 AND a Chapuis 9,3x74R you do not need your 375 H&H's the 404 Jeffery or the 9,3x62 bolt gun.

I can make a good case for a drilling however. Big Grin

I will not be in Big D next Sat.

Like N E 450 No2 said, you'll like the Chapuis even better!

I have to disagree on the .375 though ... no caliber less than .375 H&H is legal for buf in Tanzania. Was not pleased as I'd like to have taken my Chapuis and my Searcy there in August.

Rusty, are you saying the 9.3X62 comes with the same recoil lug on the barrel that butts up against the F block in the barrel channel like the 375 and 416 Rigby? Are the rear sights the same? I was under the impression that only the large magnums came with this. Also is this the standard length action, and not the long magnum length "old 602"?

I have to give you that one. Tip does think my rifle will be ready around the begining of next month in any event.

Can I leave you some ammo or North Fork bullets somewhere? As far as I am concerned they are the real deal for the 9.3x62, but then what do I know? Eeker I traded off most of my other 9.3 bullets, brass and ammo but do have some ammo and bullets left in the NF flavor. Let me know.

Hart I have alux 9.3x62 it came with dual cross bolts for and aft the mag box as well as a normal f block barrel lug a couple of inches down the barrel...............no funky tie down set up like my magnum cz's if anything it's set up better than them.

I have mounted a 2-7 leupold win warne fixed mounts and am shooting speer 270 gr softs as there fine for thinner skinned stuff.

Rusty,
I bought on last Saturday, I shot some load on Sunday, on Tuesday I had a 0.7" group, a little strip of 3 in 1/3" and then the other two. I did it with a scope reticle 1.
Impressive. but the pleasure is +/- finished. Frowner

Yes, it has an extra lug that fits into a channel in the stock. Neither that lug nor the main lug is bedded. I am contemplating a road trip to Porter to let Jeffeossco work his bedding magic!

I've had one for a couple of years and all I'd change is the same as yours, a set of NECG sights and probably a barrel band swivel on the front. Mine shoots very well with RL15 or Ramshot Big Game and 286 Noslers or North Forks. I haven't been back to Africa since I got mine, but it should be perfect for all around use. It did work nicely on a BC bear last year with the 286 NF. Try the set trigger when shooting offhand, you'll really like it.
