| Be careful. In my youth I "over adjusted" an L61R trigger. It worked fine until one day it discharged when closing the bolt. As they say "The loudest thing you will ever hear is an accidental discharge"

| You are safe down to 2 lbs. I would suggest you get it checked. My rifle is pre 1970 & into its second barrel. I had the trigger adjusted by an experienced / very good gunsmith

| Both of my L61Rs started dropping the pin when the bolt was pressed forward. The triggers were visibly deformed. I replaced them with Timneys. |

Really? I don't suppose you would be able to furnish a photo of this deformation? It would be extremely instructive. |

| I don't have a photo and I'm 3,000 miles from the parts bin that they might be in, sorry. Imagine the edge of the important surfaces is rounded and there is a ridge built up behind the rounded section on the flats of the parts. That is what I recall, but it has been some time. |

That´s like when they come from factory. I have use SAKO L61R triggers in my Mausers many years and they are very safe unless you try to adjust them too light. Factorys minimum is 1,5 kg = 3,3 lbs. All my mausers have cocking piece without any notch as like SAKO rifles have. |

| A friend who was a gunsmith once upon a time (who sold us both Sakos) concurred that the triggers were faulty. I bought the Timneys and he installed them. Both rifles came used so someone else might have worked on the triggers but we did not, and neither felt altered. |
