Anyone have any pet 338-378 loads they want to share. I'm working with the 225AccuBond but I would like to see any and all that have worked out well for you. The more detailed the load the better.

Thanks

I use 100gr. of h-4831sc behind a 250gr. nosler partition and am recording 3005fps on my chrony. 103 gr. and the bolt is sticky to open. Have gotten moose at 450 yards with it up in Newfoundland. Mine is really a 338/378KT with a WEATHERBY MARK V action--26 in. Broughton cut rifling barrel--magna-ported and braked. Wood stock--9.5 pounds scoped. Does a he--ava job on game. Elmer Keith knew what he was talking about when he built this cartridge. He was a designer-builder- and user for proof of his ideas and writings. "HELL I WAS THERE", and it's true.

Go to longrangehunting.com and do a search on their forum. There is more info there on big 338's than anywhere I have found. Those guys eat, sleep, and breathe 338's

I worked this load up using the Barnes 3rd edition and the Lymann 48th edition with Barnes TTSXs. Make sure you work up from the minimum of around 100 grains. This is for a factory Weatherby Accumark (i.e. Weatherby freebore).

Fed 215M primers
225 grain Barnes TTSX
104.1 grains IMR-7828
OAL was 3.720 (if I recall)

I haven't even tweaked this load yet and it shoots right at MOA with my Accumark. Chrono'd velocity is ~3150 in 70 degree weather. The same load shot as fast as 3220 when it was 108 outside. The next powder I'm thinking of trying is H-1000 for it's temperature stability. It would be nice if it shoots as well as the IMR-7828 load.

I use 7828 for 200-215 grain bullets and RL 25 for anything heavier. Do a simple google search and you will find all the data you can use.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
