Has anyone laid their mitts on the new CZ 550 Carbine Kevlar in either 30-06 or 9.3x62mm? Wondering how it feels in hand, balances, and if it actually weighs in at 7lbs as advertised.

I have a 550 American .270 with a kevlar stock and can't say enough about it. Very, very accurate but it's on the heavy side. The fit and finish is perfect. Trigger pull is excellent. Go for it !

CZ is one of our sponsors on Petersen's Hunting TV so I got to hunt with the CZ guy who was carrying the prototype last year in BC. I shot my bears with my own standard-length 550 Kevlar in 9.3x62, but I really like the way his gun handled. It shot very well on the range, too. I don't recall the weight, but it was definitely lighter than my gun which isn't that heavy to begin with. It would be awful tough to beat for a brush gun.
