Terry, I have only seen one in 270WSM and I thought it was well put together and the action seemed pretty decent. Unfortunately when I went back to get it someone beat me to it. Do you have the CM or Stainless version?

The CZ Model 3 is a Montana Rifle Co. (MRC 1999) barreled action with a stock supplied to CZ by American Walnut Co. It's a great rifle. Too bad CZ discontinued them.
I may be wrong.....But I recnetly heard from a local Dealer who just returned from the SHOT Show that CZ was dropping the #3. The Dealer as a matter of fact bought several on closeout.
Thought about grabbing one but caliber choice, only WSM calibers, and cast receivers, I just as well buy a Ruger in a caliber I like and save a few bucks. I still like the imported CZ 550 American, forged receiver, excellent accuracy and reasonable price.

gsears... agree about the caliber choice. I don't like the short mags either. Also, I bought the same barreled action from MRC last August...CM, LH, in .308 Win. with the WSM barrel contour (#2) on special for $550. I have no problem at all with the cast receiver and the MRC 1999 is (in my opinion) a much nicer design than the Ruger. It combines the best features of the Mod.70 Win. and 98 Mauser. Model 70 receiver/trigger, Mauser breeching system, CRF, etc. And a short, left hand action, has never been available from Ruger. Over $800 for the barreled action from MRC does seem a little "steep" to me...especially with WSM's being the only choice. I wonder if the receivers are marked "CZ" or "Montana Rifle Company" like mine? Jon
