Rigby Stalking rifle

You sound like its something new? if so have not heard of one..

I had an original barreled action in 275 that I sold on AR, and the buyer had Rigby restore it to original a few years ago, don't know if he has received it back, They even told him it was all original metal and stocked it for him along with a letter..They are lovly guns, and elephant stomped the stock on this one Im told. I had Dennis Olson make a pattern stock for it. Sold the barreled action and let Dennis keep the stock, at least for now.

On this weekends Hornaday Dark and Dangerous they are hunting in Uganda with open sights it 275.

The rifle sure looks fine.

The rifle in the tv show was modeled after Bell's 275. I pretty rifle indeed.

The Highland Stalker that they offer is modeled after Jim Corbett's .275 Rigby. There's a photo on their website with Corbett's rifle next to the current offering. Other than the bolt handle they are very close in appearance. I'd love to have one!

Our friend, dpcd, is making me up a similar rifle using a LH commercial Mauser. He has made the front sight and the sling swivel and we are using NECG for rear sight. 1909 bottom metal, Gentry 3 pos safety, and an Oberndorf bolt handle will go on as well. Maybe he'd post pics of his work?

Nicer things in life are always considered "overpriced for what they are" by those who choose not to purchase them (for whatever reason). Loaded 4x4 pickups, Rolex watches, jewelry for the wife, single malt Scotch whisky, first class airline seats, double rifles, big game hunts, English SxS shotguns, custom 1911 pistols, engraved Colt's SAA, (etc.) and yes, Rigby rifles. For those of us that enjoy such "overpriced for what they are" luxuries, they are a great value and a wonderful reward of our hard work.

My Rigby Highland Stalker in 30-06 is one of the best shooting rifles I own, and I look great when I am carrying it hunting.

Modern CNC made Mauser 98. What does the name upcharge from Mauser to Rigby cost?

I know branded Mauser 98s are also be turned out at the same time.

The metal comes from Mauser anyway.

Neither one appeared to be in stock.

The Rigby Highland Stalker is $10995.00

I didn't see a price for a Mauser 98 in a standard caliber on their website.

Gunbroker has a 30-06 Mauser for $8300.

Pretty rifles, but not sure I'd ever do something like that.

My Co-worker has a Ford Platinum 4x4. I would bet it cost $75,000. That one I really don't get.

We both have 2017 model trucks. Mine is a Toyota Sequoia. I bought it 2nd hand for $35000 with tax. His is nicer, but when mine has 250,000 miles on it will be worth $10,000 his will be worth nothing as it won't be on the road anymore.

Then again I am on my 2nd redheaded wife. So sanity is not a factor in my life.

Besides I'd like to actually see a comparable rifle made by anyone for $3000.

Personally, I can't stand the short forend in the top photo or its shape. Much prefer a rounded forend.

Yes, better prices on Gunbroker or Guns International. 3 are on Guns International for $8,995 and the 3 are on Gunbroker at that price as well.

Aluminium corrodes very quickly with salts and alkali. Probably acid as well.

Amonia is terrible on aluminium as is salt used on the roads.

I have inspected dozens of Aluminum motor coaches that were corroded beyond repair.

Salt steel and alum doesn't do their bodies any good.

Their 'shop' is a veritable trove of gun and hunting history with some amazing taxidermy and gunsmithing on site. Even if you just visit for a tea or a coffee, you will not be sorry!
