Not sure exactly where to put this discussion but this seemed the most likely.

I own 3 200’s but they are all in standard 06 head sized calibers.

I see barre prices plummeting so I am wondering can I just get a magnum bolt and barrel and be in the magnum business?

I can only speak for the 202, but the receivers are about 0.250 inches longer than the standard. You may have to find a magnum receiver. Might be easier to find a 202 in magnum as the prices appear to be dropping for the right hand versions.

Thank you for the response.

I had looked at that approach.

I was just wanting to see if the standard receiver was an option.

The usual, takedown with tools, Sauer 200 and 202 rifles are in standard and magnum length actions. Barrels and bolts for standard and magnum lengths are different and must match the correct action length.
Barrels for 200 and usual 202 rifles are the same. Bolts for 200 and usual 202 rifles are different.
All true takedown, takedown without tools, 202 rifles have the same length action and can be used with both standard and magnum bolts and barrels.
The barrels and bolts for true takedown Sauer 202 rifles are different from the those for the .usual 200/202 rifles.
