Hey -- the Sako Collectors Club has just acquired a bunch of old Sako factory records and is offering look-up services for older Sakos, going all the way back to the Mosins and as new as the mid-1970's. For anyone who has ever tried to find out the "born on" date of a Sako you know that this information has been almost non-existent and speculative. You can order info on individual Sakos at www.store.sakocollectors.com.

Here's what the photocopies of the actual Sako ledgers look like. You get a copy of these for your rifle(s) when you request the Level 2 research service. The first image is of the production records, and the second image is of the sales/shipping records. Sako rifles were not numbered in consecutive order, so rifles with higher serial numbers may be older than similar rifles with lower serial numbers in many instances. These are low resolution images reproduced here -- the actual high resolution images are much more readable. And here is a sample of the Letter of Authentication you receive along with the records photocopies if you request Level 3 service: I'm getting the Letter for all of my Sakos because I figure it will enhance their value more than the letter costs.
