Finally got to try this caliber on a live target last week. The first one was a small buck at 150 yds. It dropped in its tracks from a shot high in the vitals. The 2nd was a large 3 1/2 yr old at 300 yds. It ran about 15 yards with a high vitals shot. I was very impressed. ./l ,[___], l--L=OlllllO= O_) O_)~-)_) If at first you don't succeed,,,failure may be your thing!!!

Sorry, nothing special. Factory Remington 165 grain Corelokt PSP. I haven't gotten around to loading for this one yet. I was actually considering getting rid of the gun prior to this hunt. But now I think I'll give it a couple of seasons. It's the only stainless rifle I have and it had been raining heavily there. It was nice not having to worry much about moisture. And it was an easy carrying gun. It's a Remmy 700 R.M.E.F.. ./l ,[___], l--L=OlllllO= O_) O_)~-)_) If at first you don't succeed,,,failure may be your thing!!!

I just ordered the Barnes 165 TSX for my 300SAUM. I emailed Barnes about the bullet weights for moose and elk and they replied that the 165 was plenty of weight and it would expand and exit and the 165 will be faster and flatter. Happy hunting.

It seemed to expand pretty well. It went completely through so I coundn't inspect it, but the exit hole was about an inch in diameter. ./l ,[___], l--L=OlllllO= O_) O_)~-)_) If at first you don't succeed,,,failure may be your thing!!!
