Either the 338-06 or the 9.3x62 would make superb moose rifles.I have shot many moose, never lost one, mostly with lung shots. Used 30-06, .308, .270, 35 Whelen, 358 Win., .338 Win., .300 Win mag. They lay quickly down within 75 yards to die. Use a strong bullet incase you get a bone shot. If you hit the shoulder knuckle with a non premium bullet in a .270 or .308 cal, you are in trouble, but the moose will lay down fast and give you a second shot. I prefer now 250 Nosler partitions in my .338 and can take any shot that presents itself. Your 9.3x62 would be my choice, but.............as some pointed out, can you get ammo in time ready for your upcoming hunt????.If not the .338-06 would be a very fine replacement choice.

I've shot two bull moose with a .35 Whelen using 250 gr. Nosler Partitons at 2,500+ fps. The first, in Newfouldland at 175 yards. The second, in Wyoming, at 280 yards. Neither one went over 30 yards before going down. I think either one of your choices would be okay.
