I picked up a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in 270 Win. two weeks ago. It isn't very fond of unfired factory brass but after fire forming and full length resizing it is a sub .7MOA gun with 130gr, 140gr & 150gr Nosler bullets and IMR4831 powder. Their recoil lug is a small chunk of metal that drops into a slot in the synthetic stock and then snugs up into a groove in the receiver. Quite a strange design but the gun sure shoots.

Tikka T3 light rifles are very accurate. Smiler
Mine a 6.5x55 puts 139 grain PMC and 156 grain Norma into the same point of aim. The T3 has its detractors who don't like the plastic stock, me I like them because they shoot so well and I take a function before form approch to rifles in their price bracket.
As for the 300 WSM, two friends have rifles in this calibre both of whom report under 1 inch groups.

I have a 30-06. Shoots extremely well. 1" groups at 200 yards and that's not my imagination.

What is the recoil like in the T3 Lite with the WSM's?

I'm think of buying that gun for my girlfriend because it fits her so well.

Sorry for the question, no Hi-Jacking intended on the this thread.

-Everybody has a dream hunt, mine just happens to be for a Moose.-

-The 30-06 is like a perfect steak next to a campfire, a .300 Win Mag is the same but with mushrooms and a baked potato-

In 2004 I bought a T3 LS 270WSM. My fiance then (now wife) shoots the 270WSM and packs it around comfortably. She then took over this rifle, so I bought an identical one for me. She took her first mulie buck and cow elk in 2004, and her moose in 2005. This caliber is amazing, with 140gr. Accubonds or maybe the new Winchester Supreme Elite XP3 bullets @ 150gr.

The LS version is a bit heavier than the T3 SS, so it may handle the recoil a bit more. Good luck in your choice.

I have a T-3 Lite in the blue steel finish in .300 Win mag; off a bench rest it takes a few rounds to get used to but once that part is over, it's a pussycat! Very accurate, will use it this fall; also have one in .338 win mag but put a brake on it. IMO, the .338 is the cut off for recoil issues for me in this lite rifle. If it were another brand with another 1.5 lbs., it wouldn't make much difference. Good luck
