I just bought a Kimber classic 8400 30/06 that had been in a local dealer inventory over 2 years. What a beautiful rifle.I did have second thoughts because of all the things I have read on the internet about Kimbers not being accurate and feeding problems. When I got it home I ran a full boxs of shells through it and it feeds alright. I live in the country and I did it out side.I'm not a super accurate shooter so I will be happy with a 1 1/2 inch group at 100 yards.Usually the way I practice is shooting a socker ball size target off hand at 200 yards.I can do that most of the time.I felt the price was so good I could not turn it down.I guess my question is is there a lot of truth about the Kimbers having problems? Im kinda new to a lot different rifles other than Remingtons and Rugers.Thank you

Rule #1....do not believe everything you read on the internet. I would take a Kimber over a Ruger or Remington, but that's me and really you can't beat the 30/06. Almost all rifles can be made to shoot small groups through handloading. If you don't handload try some different factory loads to see what "your" rifle likes.

I LOVE my Kimber 8400 in 270WSM!! Very well made, accurate and BEAUTIFUL!! I have had maybe 10 0r 12 Remingtons, Winchesters and Rugers over the years. I wouldn't trade the Kimber for any of them. I own 4 Kimbers and have owned probably about 10 in the last 4 years, all of them were great shooters, My guess is that some of the earlier models had some flaws,as many first runs do but the newer ones are really good, yes I will agree they are more accurate than Rems or Rugers

Don't believe all the internet commandos out there. Sure some Kimbers had problems, but many are great shooters. My nephew just purchased a Montana in 300 Wim Mag. It was used at a great deal in a big box store. I scoped it up and test fired ammo for him. I found a factory load which shoots about 1/2" @ 100. I put about 50 rounds through it dueing the testing of about 6 different factory offerings. No problems with feeding or extraction with any load. Now it is a light rifle and I thingk I figured out why the kid asked me to do the work! He used it in Colorado this season to take a beautiful bull elk. He commented that the lightweight rifle was great co carry in the field and he never noticed the recoil when the bull was in the scope. Good thing I'm left handed ot I'd have to consider one for meself..... ______________________ Guns are like parachutes.
