I'm having trouble connecting the dots....Maybe but I'm going to take a back seat on this one. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." All they have done is add stiffness to a standard barrel with a fancy muzzle brake. This is similar to the Christiansen Arms http://www.christensenarms.com/ Carbon barrels. Added stiffness without the weight. You would be better off with a barrel tuner similar to the Browning Boss. I have used it with amazing success. Simply load your desired bullet to desired velocity and dial in the comp until you get dime group accuracy. No question that it works and is more practical than this solution IMO. I don't have any opinion on the product really and I wouldn't be surprised if it works the way they claim. On the other hand when I got to this part of the article I quit reading: "Granted we didn’t test either gun without the Straightjacket and with the Razor HD, but to say they improved would be a significant understatement." That "test" is completely bogus if they don't shoot the guns before the modifications. I was born at night but it wasn't last night. I'm not saying the product doesn't work. Just saying that I wouldn't take the authors word for it.

When I see it on winning benchrest rifles I will know it works.

TC260; you didn't read the article close enough. The rifles were tested before having the mods done, just not with the Vortex scope mentioned. See para. 12.

"a steel sleeve fitted to it that is filled with a proprietary media and capped." Don't know any more about it than the site quoted but I'd be surprised if it's any more complicated than EMT conduit with the inner gap filled with a casting rubber simular to RTV silicon caulk.

That means "secret"....and that's what makes it work. I think it's time to hoist the flag..... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." "Both rifles performed in exemplary fashion at 100 yards with no Straightjacket, so Ben took them to the 500 yard range in Tampa to see what they would do with their new and very permanent heat hungry barrel sleeves from Teludyne." That's not in any way, shape, or form a scientific test. You can't change 3 key variables from one test to the next and then claim with any certainty that one variable made an improvement. Their claims are baseless. Like I said before, I'm not doubting their product. Just because the test was bogus doesn't mean the product doesn't work. I just wouldn't put down any money based on this article. All they had to do was shoot a gun with scope at 500 yrds, keep everything the same and shoot it again with the modified barrel. The results from that comparison would be meaningful.
