Anyone have any info on these? How is the function . Any bugs ?

I am not familiar with these rifles. I am looking at one in .358 Norma .

It looks like a sound rifle . It appears to be a pushfeed but thats fine with me.

never had one altho i'd love to. one of the last of what you'd call a real mauser (in so far as who made them). olsen writes them up in his book "mauser bolt rifles", and were in production for quite a few years. not a cheap rifle either. will look but i think in price range of weatherby mk v or higher. i know the late col. charles askins used those actions often for building his rifles (apparently seldom shot a straight factory gun).

grabbed olsen, has a 3 page description. concluding remark is "..lack elegance of pre war sporters....however are sturdy, well made and finished and perform satisfactorily."

what's odd is i can't find them at all in de haas' "bolt action rifles".

i'd not be the least bit worried abt one as to quality, etc and would love to have one. are fairly scarce as were expensive.

just looked; in 1974 shooters bible, a wby mk v was $360 and up, a mauser 3000 was $230 and up and a remington 700 was $175 and up. colt sauer was $400 and a browning safari was $300+.

and yes is a push feed w/ plunger ejector and what's referred to as a sako style extractor and like you, i'm not religious abt that either.

a Heym as it was built by Heym under the Mauser banner

As I understood it this was the last model rifle built by Heym for another rifle manufacturer. I own a 3000 left handed I bought in 1972 in 30-06. I love it and think it is a great accurate rifle, always smooth and never a problem. There are a few on the internet for sale all around $1,000.00.

thanks for pointing that out; i'd completely missed it in olsen. his lead in paragraph states they were made by heym for mauser and marked w/ the mauser trademark and banner. i missed it as just skipped thru to his summation.

what i don't get, and unless i'm nuts, i can NOT find that rifle under mauser or heym or ANY heym in de haas 3rd edition and those predate the 3rd edition by abt 20+ years.
