| At that impact velocity, pick the Sierra, Speer, or Hornady that shoots best in your particular rifle. They will all work well. (Or pick the first one on the shelf that you come to and you'll probably do fine). |

| The ballistic tip will do a great job in that application. |

| i have 8 factory boxs of 173 gr's that shoot like a house on fire. im just worried that they wont give expansion at that velocity. as soon as a couple are shot im gonna load up some 140's to 2900 or so. i find that the hornadys shoot well in steyrs. will the 139 SST do well at that velocity ?
i have to walk thru some pretty thick land to get to a site were i can glass. sometimes i see deer at 300 yards sometimes at 30 feet. im lookiong for something that will do both equally well. 156's? |

| Well we have used the 140 accubond in my wife's 7x57 for several hunts now. I've been impressed. Beautiful expansion on a Springbok and Gemsbok in Nambia this May. Both shots over 200 yds.
As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I've had to hold some shots under those conditions, because I had a Bullet I considered more fragile than some other choices I had. For example, I've passed on countless shots at Deer 1-2 rows into a Bean field when I had Bullets constructed lighter than a Partition. Even though some deflection will occur with the Partition and Beans, there are some angles and distances that make the Kill shot a high probability. Unless I'm just Testing a Bullet to see how it performs, I consider the worst possible environmental situation and use a Bullet that will handle it. If I have a Trophy Buck patterned, I'm generally using Bullet designs I have confidence in. Or, I accept the fact I may need to pass on some potential shot opportunities. Good Hunting and clean 1-shot Kills. |

| i think im gonna stick w/ the 173 SPCE bullets. i often opt for the heavyier more toughly constructed round. if i have to track one cause i puncher on thru then ill just track it. better than losing one from a too lightly constructed bullet. |

| Ihave killed deer with 139 hornady flat bases,140 Sierra flat bases & 145 Speer hot cores. They have all done well, the sierras seem to shoot best in my rifles. |

| at 2100 to 2400 fps, I personally load the 140 grain Ballistic Tips.. they are accurate of course but also open up better at lower velocity than do most of the other bullets.. and penetrate deeper the lower the velocity gets...
zereoed 3.5 inches high at 100 yds, they are dead on at 200 yds.. and 3.5 inches low at about 240 yds...this is with an MV of 2250 fps...
I frequently carry a load with this velocity range in my 7 x 57s...using either 22 grs of Blue Dot or 25grs of SR 4759 as powders... |

| FWIW, I have had great luck with 140 NBTs with the 7-08 and 7x64 BR. Lou

| I killed a lot of deer with the Sierra Gameking HPBT 160 gr before I switched to TSXs a couple years ago. |
