If you are looking for quicker expansion than the partition, but not quite as explosive as the 180 Scirocco I would go with the 200 Grain Nosler Accubond. I had the same predicament you are in and did just that. I have been nothing but pleased with the 200 grain Accubond. Also, it has such a high b.c. that you don't give much if anything up in trajectory over normal hunting ranges.

Try it, I think you will be pleased.

When I first bought my 300 Win Mag I caught a sale at Walmart on 150 grain PSPCL for 13.97 a box so I bought four. I reload everything anyway and thought cheap once fired brass. The load shot well out of my rifle and was deadly on deer and feral hogs, not always exiting on hogs but always on deer and talk about making soup out of the insides of deer and hogs. Generally there was a 60-70 grain very expanded bullet in pretty much one piece on the bigger hogs though none were over 200 pounds. This shooting all took place at under 125 yards. I figure the 180 should cover your needs. As I was getting my gun put on the airplane to go elk hunting the lady told me I couldn't take my ammo because it wasn't in the original factory boxes, it wasn't so my 200 grain Speer reloads didn't get to go elk hunting. I killed my elk handily with a fgactory 180 Remington corelokt with a behind the shoulder shot that exited after souping everything in the chest, range 150 yards. I seem to only get short or medium range shots with this rifle for some reason.

Like previously mentioned, a very very good choice would be EITHER the 180 or 200 Accubond.

You may also consider the 165 Hornady Interbond. That little booger is a tough bullet and expands well but doesn't pancake like the Scirocco.

But quite frankly, I sincerely believe that you could go buy almost ANY decent factory ammo with a 180 bullet and as long as it shoots good in your gun, you should be happy with overall performance.

I shoot the 200 Accubond in my 300 Rem. Ultra Mag and right now, I cannot see ever putting a different bullet in it unless I get a hair up my butt and see what the 168 Triple Shock will do.
